Frequently Asked
Questions
QUESTIONS:
All payments are made via invoice.
To secure your booking, simply email Josephine with your preferred package along with any ideal dates or timeframes you would like to reserve. An invoice, agreement form, and payment details will then be sent through to you directly.
Please note that full payment is required to confirm and lock in your session dates.
Start by booking a complimentary discovery call where we'll chat about your style goals, lifestyle, and what you're hoping to achieve through the process. During the call, I'll walk you through The Complete Wardrobe System, answer any questions you may have, and ensure we're the right fit to work together.
If you decide to move forward, we'll schedule the four sessions that make up the package. Once confirmed, I'll send through your invoice, agreement form, booking confirmation, calendar invites, and a short pre-session questionnaire and homework to complete before your first appointment.
Sessions are booked at times that work for both of us, however I do recommend booking 3–5 weeks in advance to secure your preferred dates.
For all new clients purchasing The Complete Wardrobe System, the package includes four sessions in total.
To ensure the best results and a seamless transformation process, sessions are structured as follows:
- Sessions are scheduled weekly to maintain momentum and continuity
- The final Outfit Session may be scheduled up to two weeks after the previous session if needed
This spacing allows for a smooth client journey, keeps the process focused and effective, and ensures your style evolution remains top of mind throughout the experience.
No, the shopping budget is separate from my service fee. My package fee covers my expertise, time, and styling services. The shopping budget is what you'll spend on the actual clothing during our personal shopping session.
This keeps things transparent: you know exactly what you're paying for my services versus what you're investing in your wardrobe.
For new clients, the first stage of the process typically involves curating a more extensive selection of quality staple and foundational pieces to properly elevate your wardrobe and create a cohesive outfit system.
To achieve the best possible outcome, Josephine works with clients who are comfortable investing in quality pieces that align with their lifestyle, personal brand, and long-term wardrobe goals.
For clothing and accessories, we generally recommend allowing between $8,000–$20,000+ (approximately 15–30+ pieces), depending on your personal style, lifestyle requirements, preferred quality expectations, and the level of transformation you are looking to achieve.
Home visits within 30 minutes travel each way from Rosebery are included in my styling packages.
For clients located outside this area, including locations such as Wollongong, the Central Coast, or further Western Sydney suburbs, additional travel fees will apply at a rate of $100 per hour, each way.
Due to the personalised nature of my services, I don't offer refunds once a booking is confirmed and the deposit has been paid.
However, I'm committed to your satisfaction. If something isn't working during our sessions, please tell me immediately so I can adjust my approach. Your confidence and happiness with the outcome is my priority.
I require at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a session without penalty. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will forfeit the session or incur a 50% rebooking fee.
For colour analysis, come with a clean face (no makeup) and natural hair if possible. This helps me see your true colouring.
For your wardrobe edit, ensure all clothing is clean, accessible, and pulled out of storage boxes. I'll need to see everything to give you the best advice.
For shopping, wear comfortable clothes you can easily change in and out of: simple underwear, slip-on shoes, and minimal accessories.
During a wardrobe edit, I review everything in your wardrobe: tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, shoes, bags, and accessories. We assess each piece for fit, condition, relevance to your lifestyle, and how it works within your overall wardrobe.
Items for undergarments, swimwear, and activewear are included if you'd like, though most clients prefer to manage these themselves.
Josephine offers personal shopping sessions in Sydney CBD and Bondi Junction Westfield. The exact location is tailored to each client's needs and will be confirmed during your consultation to ensure we have access to the right mix of stores for your style and budget.
Your shopping experience is guided by your budget per item (for example, the maximum you'd like to spend on a blazer, jeans, dress, or a bag), and Josephine carefully selects from stores to align with your goals.
Josephine does not shop at low-tier, fast-fashion retailers such as Zara, H&M, Cotton On, Kmart, or Target. Instead, expect to shop within:
- Mid-Tier Brands: Witchery, Country Road, Saba, Cue, Veronika Maine, Seed, Sheike and more.
- High-Tier Brands: Aje, Camilla & Marc, Viktoria & Woods, Zimmermann, Scanlan Theodore, Maje, Carla Zampatti, Hugo Boss, among many others.
- Designer Brands: (upon request for accessories) Celine, Loewe, Loro Piana, Dior, Chanel, Hermes, Bottega Veneta, LV, Tods among others.
Budget expectations and store selections are always discussed during your initial consultation, ensuring full transparency and alignment before your shopping session.
No, I don't accept commissions or kickbacks from any retailer. This means my recommendations are 100% unbiased and based solely on what's right for you.
Many stores offer stylist discounts which I pass directly on to you, so you actually save money shopping with me compared to shopping alone.
I style women of all body shapes and proportions, from petite to tall, curvy to athletic. Most of my clients fall within sizes 6-16, where the Australian market offers the widest variety of options.
For specialised sizing (such as size 4, plus size 18-22 or very petite frames), the options in stores can be more limited, but I always identify the best possible pieces, even if that means recommending alternative options online or alterations to achieve the perfect fit. My focus is on cut, proportion, and detail, ensuring every client leaves with a wardrobe that feels intentional, elevated, and empowering.
In most cases no. We provide the highest level of care when preparing everything for you, so we offer a one of a kind service that most stylists do not offer: a 'Pre-shop' which is where Josephine comes in the day before puts aside all of the researched pieces and looks on hold that you will be trying on.
This is to manage our time more effectively in your shopping experience.
If required to wait, it will generally be for changing sizes, grabbing alternative items to try on or grabbing pieces from out the back that have been placed on hold for you.
Yes, Josephine allows up to 2 hours of additional time on the day for wardrobe edit and personal shopping sessions, should you wish to continue beyond the allocated session time.
Overtime is charged at the following rate:
- $200 per additional hour
Extended time is subject to availability on the day.
